I don’t really want to see another gingerbread house for a long time.
J had the first of his many holidays events this weekend: a gingerbread house making workshop. He puts together the gingerbread houses and the families just need to show up and decorate! J provides the very creative candy options for the decorations. He has offered this in his town for the last 3 years. The first year, he sold all 10 houses he bought. Last year, he offered more, 15, and sold out again. So this year he upped it to 25 … and sold out with a waiting list.
Guess which unemployed chick got to help him put together those 25 houses on Friday??? THE VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR, of course. It only took us 5 hours and you can tell it took us a few houses to get a system down. By the end, we were expert builders.
All the hard work was worth it to see the happy (and candy-induced hyper) children on Saturday.Next weekend, I get to dress as an elf and get up at 5am for his event! CAN YOU FEEL MY EXCITEMENT???
Toddler and I made a gingerbread train today, except she did more eating than helping.
