Lots of people have been asking what that item is that I am holding up in front of the state signs.
It is a clear rock with a cross and the word “believe” and it was given to us by our second Mom in Phoenix. Someone had given it to her when her youngest son died tragically in a construction accident and she needed to believe. The one-year anniversary of his death is actually today.
I have been carrying the rock in my pocket since Maine and it is a reminder that God is with us every step of the way and that you have to believe to get to Georgia. I haven’t asked our “Mom” yet, but we would like to leave the rock at Springer Mtn in GA for another hiker to carry and use for inspiration.
GREAT post… thoughts go to "mom" today! just cannot believe that you are over half way done! Don't go too fast… enjoy it, enjoy it, enjoy it! I must say that I liked Justin's mom's comment… Justin did look pretty natural!
We believe in you guys! ~SILadventure & DocDoc
