Justin’s sister, Jamie, is trying to go for the record of being our most frequent visitor, as she came in 2021, 2022 and now 2024 (and actually this is her 5th time in the state)! I’m convinced she loves Alaska as much as her brother does …

The stars aligned when Jamie and Rachel had a free weekend in August that lined up with 3 nights open at the yurt! As is our typical M.O., only one of us can really take off for summer visitors, so it was Justin’s turn to play tour guide. Not that they need one!! Plus, the trip was more about low-key hanging out on our deck and at the yurt, although we still eeked out a few adventures! I dragged them on an off-trail hike to a local secret area I’ve been dying to explore, and Justin took them rafting and exploring in the national park off-trail looking for dinosaur prints (they found 1 !).

No doubt these 2 will be back again for more …

It was a great trip! Alaska is a special place. I love it but not enough to live there. Visiting is great and I will be back for my 6th visit before you know it.
