In March 2012, we bought our bright blue, shiny Malibu. It got me to and from my The Job I Loathed for 6 months, then it shuttled smelly hikers to and from trailheads for the next 8 months. Then we drove it out to Colorado, where it would sit for the next 6 months. We chose to park our car at our boss’s house in Boulder, mainly because it would be “safer” there as J’s sister worried it would be a target for a break-in on her street in Denver.
Well, then Boulder was flooded. Many people lost homes, lives and possessions. Our “Bu” was one of the victims. Once an insurance adjuster checked it out, they confirmed that water got up in the electrical system and it was deemed as totaled.
Bu, you were in our lives for only a short period of time, but we loved you!
