Ever hear of the 2008 movie, Four Christmases? The one where the child-less couple travels to everyone’s homes to visit for the holidays? Change the name to Three Christmases, and that was us this year! From NJ/CT to Massachusetts to Colorado, we were all over the map. And thanks to holiday/weather/Covid airport delays and cancellations, we arrived home in Alaska 10 days later than planned …
This is by no means a complaint. Justin & I have always traveled all over the map for the holidays. I mean, we don’t call ourselves the Wandering La Vignes for nothing. Here’s the thing, we knew when we settled in Alaska it’d be difficult to get “outside” (AKA, the lower 48). And once you’re “outside,” you might as well fit all the visits in.
Here’s the summary in pictures!
New Jersey/Connecticut – 10 days, more or less. Visited my mom, sister, niece and nephew, and a handful of friends.

I love this picture of my niece & nephew with my mom … her shirt says it all. “My grandkids and I were made for each other.” These kids love their Nana probably more than anybody.

My sister got my book into her library, so we went to see it live on the shelf!
Massachusetts – 4 days. Visited Justin’s dad, stepmom, stepbrother & family.
Colorado – Supposed to be 8 days, ended up being 12. Visited Justin’s mom, sisters, 2 more nephews and a handful of friends.

The boys love Chick Fil-a as much as Justin does!

The Christmas Eve massage train!

Christmas Eve hike with friends!
After this year’s wonky travel delays and sleeping in 10 different beds in 8 weeks, future holidays at home without any obligations sound quite appealing … But we shall see what next year brings …
