Justin has been in Colorado since 4/8, but I joined him 4/21! It has been so wonderful to see so much family after way too long (I’m sorry to those who haven’t been able to reunite with families just yet …).
There’s a lot of moving parts to our trip down to “the lower 48,” which I’ll explain in our upcoming April Currently Post, but for now, I’ll let the pictures tell the story of family time in Denver!
Although they all live in Denver, Justin’s family hasn’t gathered together (besides Zoom) all that much, so this family dinner was especially awesome now that everyone is fully vaccinated (except the kiddos).

Over the weekend, Rachel & Jamie hosted Justin, Leanne & I at Rachel’s cabin in Fairplay. You probably have heard me reference this cabin once, twice or 50 times. I adopted it as “my cabin in the woods” until we bought our own in Alaska. Still very much a happy place for everyone!

The five of us took a drive on a 50-degree day in the mountains, first stopping off for a walk in San Isabel National Forest, followed by Salida, which is a lovely little mountain town where we hadn’t been.

Our time in Denver was short, but we made sure to optimize QT with the nephews by putting them to work to help pack our stuff. Don’t worry, we rewarded them with THE ICE CREAM BALL! That’s right, we made delicious homemade ice cream!

Have to give a nod to the family cats in Denver …

Hopefully we will be back sooner than 14 months!

Family time is the best time! It’s even more meaningful when it’s been taken away. I’m so grateful to have some quality time with you and Justin! Can’t wait for our next reunion.
So glad you got to spend time with family! It must have felt amazing! I haven’t gotten to see my family quite yet but it is happening soon. I’ve been able to see one friend for a few hours and some of us are planning a weekend away in July.
Hi Patrice…..so glad you were able to have a family reunion! It’s always a blessing when you can be with family and friends. Thanks for sharing the pictures……love the smiles on everyone’s faces. Take care, stay well, be safe, and my best to Justin.
