Our Christmas visits continued in Denver this week with Justin’s family. Some nice traditions have been established here as well: Christmas Eve Mass, Christmas Eve dinner at J’s mom’s and opening stocking stuffers, Christmas breakfast brunch and kid gift opening, then J & I head back to his mom’s to relax for the afternoon & we all watch “Love Actually,” then back to J’s sister (Julie) for dinner. Year after year, the guest list changes slightly and there are other things interjected in the day, like grab bag gift exchanges, nighttime game-playing and living room concerts. Don’t you dare think we are singing Christmas music at our concerts. Oh no. It’s Bruce Springsteen, Old Crow Medicine Show, etc. And this year, we introduced the Gift Unwrapping Race, which was a big hit.
Christmas Eve at J’s Mom’s house. Above, Jamie & Russ inspect the Ken doll gifts. They sure have come a long way since our youth!
Christmas Day brunch where everyone brings a dish. Followed by lots of wrapping paper thrown around!
These kids love to ham it up for the camera!
You must introduce the “Gift Unwrap Game” (I really don’t know the official name) in your household!
I love my onion goggles stocking stuffer;)
Hope everyone out there enjoyed their holidays! Happy 2018!
Looking good in your onion googles! It was a great Christmas celebration with plenty of entertainment!
